The RPS Soccer Academy Development Model
The Five Elements of Success
RPS Soccer Academy’s training philosophy is built around five interconnected elements that influence long-term player improvement and competitive performance.
Success in soccer is not determined by technical skill alone. RPS Soccer Academy evaluates and develops each athlete through a comprehensive model designed to support measurable progress, personal growth, and collegiate readiness.
Desire
Commitment, coach-ability, and the drive to compete every day — the foundation everything else is built on.
Technical
First touch, ball control, passing, and dribbling refined through daily repetition
Tactical
Decision-making, spatial awareness, and formation play sharpened through structured coaching
Physical
Speed, agility, strength, and endurance built through dedicated performance training
Mental
Confidence, composure, leadership, and resilience developed on and off the field
A Measurable Approach to Development
The Five Elements of Success provide the framework for RPS Soccer Academy’s player development process. Coaches use this model to evaluate strengths, identify opportunities for improvement, and create individualized training plans for each athlete. This structured approach helps student-athletes understand where they are today, what they need to improve, and how to build a pathway toward their long-term goals.
